Texas Registered Agent: Requirements & Options

Every Texas LLC must name a registered agent with a physical Texas street address on its Certificate of Formation (Form 205).
Who can serve
- An individual Texas resident (including you)
- A business entity authorized to do business in Texas
The agent must consent to serve, and the address is public. A P.O. box alone isn't allowed.
Be your own or hire one?
Hiring a service keeps your home address off public records and makes sure lawsuits and state notices aren't missed.
